Ministry Training Area Scholarships are are awarded at the discretion of the panel of evaluators and IFCA Youth leadership to students who present a Ministry Training event at the National Youth Convention. Students who receive a Division 1 rating from the panel of evaluators will qualify for scholarship consideration.
Bible Quizzing Scholarships are awarded to Juniors and Seniors who have been recommended by their coaches and achieve any of the following:
Senior Division Quizzers:
- On a First or Second Place team who average 20 points per quiz for the tournament.
- Selected for the All-Star Quiz Team
Novice Division Quizzers:
- On a First or Second place team and average 40 points per quiz for the tournament.
- Placement on the First All-Star team and average 40 points per quiz for the tournament.
Quote for Scholarship:
- A high school junior or senior who can quote all the senior quizzing material at one time in 45 minutes or less with a maximum of 12 helps will be awarded a scholarship certificate.
- Only one attempt of this scholarship per quizzer will be allowed at the National Tournament.
The R.J. Bouwens Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the top two senior all-star quizzers at each year’s national tournament. Randy and Pearl Bouwens have donated $500 to each of these students to be used at whichever college they choose to attend.
- This is a one-time grant to each student. It will be held in trust by the IFCA International until the winner graduates from high school and may only be used for college expenses.
- The scholarships are given in memory of their son, a former IFCA Youth Convention delegate and Bible quizzer, R. J. Bouwens, who passed away while a student at Cedarville College.
The IFCA Youth Council does not fund any scholarships. These scholarships are offered by the participating colleges and universities. No cash value equivalent will be given for any scholarship awarded through the IFCA National Youth Convention. (Exception—R.J. Bouwens Memorial Scholarship)
The following colleges and universities provide scholarships for those who qualify in eligible IFCA Youth Convention Ministry Training Areas and IFCA Bible Quizzing.
For a student to qualify for a scholarship he or she must meet the conditions outlined on out Scholarship eligibility described below. Each school has different criteria and value amounts for the use of the scholarship.
