Parents
Our desire is to equip students to serve in the local church, to love God and their neighbor, to rightly divide the word of God, and to be better prepared for whatever trials they will face.
Prepare your child/children for convention by ensuring they have read through the Student standards and guidelines. We work at making convention as safe, as instructional, as enjoyable, and as life changing to glorify God as much as possible.
We also want to prepare students for college, especially given that is a time when many fall away from Biblical instruction.
Many Juniors and Seniors earn college scholarships through participation in MTAs and Quizzing. Additionally, a number of Christian colleges attend convention and share information and swag with students.
How can you help?
- Encourage attendance and participation
- Ensure forms and permissions are filled out properly, especially allergies or other special considerations
- Pray, alongside us before, during, and after convention
- Proclaiming the truth and gospel [Acts 28:31] accurately [2 Tim 2:15]
- Fertile soil for the truths of God’s Word [Heb. 4:12; Ps. 119:11]
- Edifying relationships with peers, leaders, and counselors [Heb. 10:24; 1 Thes. 3:12]
- Purity [Ps. 119:9]
- Strengthened trust in the Lord [Prov. 3:5]
- God’s guidance and direction [Ps. 119:105]
- That youth would experience the love of Christ [Eph. 3:17-19; Phil. 1:9-11]
- Protection from the snare [Ps. 119:110] and flaming arrows of the evil one [Eph. 6:16]. Especially as youth leave convention and reinsert into comfortable habits and patterns.
